Ideas for a visit

The Old Nice

In Vieux Nice beats the heart of the city. The district of Vieux Nice is a condensed version of the south, with its many flavours and scents. It invites you to discover its history, its baroque churches, its colourful markets, including the flower market, its bistros and small restaurants...

Our boutique hotel in the centre of the old town allows you to discover Nice's main attractions on foot. Just a few steps away, discover the sea, the Promenade des Anglais, the Cours Saleya, the Place Masséna, the Théâtre de Verdure, the Opera... Don't miss the Place Garibaldi, accessible only on foot or by tram.

The museums

Take advantage of your stay in our hotel in Nice to discover its museums such as the one dedicated to Henri Matisse, the Marc Chagall National Museum, the Photography Museum, the Contemporary Museum or the Fine Arts Museum. Nice is undoubtedly a dynamic and creative city.

We also like its art of living, its azure and ochre colours, its gardens, its shops and its events which attract the whole world: Carnival, Nice Jazz Festival, Cineroma Festival, Cossover Festival...

The Promenade des Anglais

The Promenade des Anglais is the emblem of Nice and has given the city its international image.

This promenade along the sea was built by the English Reverend Lewis Way in 1820. It owes its present palm-lined configuration to the Duke of Connaught, one of Queen Victoria's sons, who opened it in 1931.

The Promenade des Anglais is now a must-see place for visitors and locals alike.

CULTURE: OPERA AND THEATRES IN NICE

With its rich history, its heritage and the many painters, writers and musicians who have followed in its footsteps, Nice's cultural reputation is well established.

Take advantage of your stay to visit the Théâtre National or the Théâtre de la Cité or to attend a ballet or a concert in the superb Opéra de Nice. At certain times of the year, the Centre du Patrimoine de la Ville de Nice organises guided tours of the Opera.

THE CASTLE HILL

Climb to the top of the Colline du Château and admire a breathtaking panorama of the old town of Nice, the Baie des Anges and the port. In fine weather, enjoy the cool undergrowth along the way and the amazing waterfall. The hill owes its name to the citadel that once stood above it and was destroyed in 1706.

CYCLING AND WALKING TOURS

Want to discover Nice on your own? Alone, in pairs or with the family, a walk or bike ride is the best way to explore at your own pace in a friendly way, while contributing to sustainable tourism.

It takes about 3 hours by bike to see Nice's highlights: the Old Town, the Castle Hill, the port, the Promenade des Anglais and the Golden Square. Save your efforts with an electric bike which will allow you to access the hills surrounding the city and offer exceptional panoramas on the Baie des Anges.
